"The Obsession" by Jesse Q. Sutanto

You have heard of stalkers before and there is always a book or two with a stalker story involved, but I have read none that have as many plot twists as "The Obsession" by Jesse Q. Sutanto.

Logan and Delilah are soulmates, meant to be. Logan knows this. He could have any girl he wants in their private school, but he wants Delilah.

Delilah finds Logan attractive. She doesn't understand why "Hot Logan," as he is known around the school, would want her.

Logan has secrets. Logan's former love-of-his-life, Sophie, died a year ago. He fell into a depressive spiral and has been lonely since. But in trying to forget Sophie, he runs into Delilah on campus and wow is she gorgeous.

Little does Logan know, Delilah has her own secrets. Delilah's father passed away just a few months ago and her mother's new boyfriend, Brandon, is not the good cop he originally seemed. But Delilah has a job and is saving money. Delilah will be free of Brandon for good in a few months.

Or...much sooner than she thinks.

Now, Delilah has two secrets. And one, Logan ends up finding out. He needs to learn everything about Delilah he can to show her that they are meant to be together, even if that means setting up cameras and discovering Delilah's dirty little secret. But now? Now Logan has exactly what he needs to keep Delilah safe and show her that, no matter what, he will proect her and always be here for her.

But Delilah has had enough of the men in her life controlling her and watching her every move. And she refuses to let Logan get away with it.

This book was such a twisty turn. Each chapter is either told from Logan or Delilah's point of view. I normally hate books like that, as it is so easy for me to lose track of whose POV I'm reading, but this was an easy read and the author did so well with writing that way. The story has the right amount of suspense thrown in with the right amount of high school romance. I hoped and prayed this book would not end like a Romeo-and-Juliet-esque story and boy, it did not disappoint.

Also, if you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship, there is help available for everyone. If you are experience stalking or harrassment, please content your local police department and/or someone you trust. Delilah felt she could not go to anyone she knew, especially the police, about Logan (for reasons that play into the plot and no spoilers here) and suffered on her own, resulting in paying the ultimate cost. Do not hesitate to reach out for help.
