"You Love Me" by Caroline Kepnes

For readers who thought they had seen the last of Joe Goldberg in Caroline Kepnes' "YOU" series, you were dead wrong.

Joe is BACK. And this time, he is going to do it right. He has decided to get away from the city and moves to Bainbridge, a "cozy island in the Pacific Northwest."

But for those who know Joe, it is easy to see from the start that temptation is only a turn-of-the-page away.

When he meets the local librarian for a job interview, he is automatically head over heels in love. Mary Kate, Joe knows, is his true, one-and-only soulmate. But he is not going to take any chances. He will take it slow with Mary Kate. He will slowly integrate into her life, slowly get to know her, like a normal person.

Nothing about Joe's life has been or ever will be normal. And when the first death occurs, despite not being by Joe's hands, he knows it is one step closer to his beloved Mary Kate and her meerkat daughter.

As is life though, Joe, once again, finds himself entangled in a mess of feelings, legal issues and even an admirer himself. After an unexpected turn, Joe moves once again and suddenly realizes that love can be killer.

I fell in love with Joe and his story when I first watched the Netflix show then read the first book. I can't get enough of Joe's story. Kepnes has a way of story-telling that is unmatchable. I feel like Joe himself is regailing his story while we're talking over a cup of coffee (although knowing him, he probably would poison it).

This is the third book in the saga and I hope that there are plenty more to come. One has to wonder though...how is Kepnes going to end the most intriguing story I have read in a long time? One cannot simply kill off Joe Goldberg. The man is immortal.

Joe Goldberg is a serial killer, a kidnapper, a stalker, an obsessive and possessive boyfriend. But Joe Goldberg is also one of the smartest and most intelligent characters who I have ever had the pleasure of reading about.

Here's to the next!
